Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In April 2022 we (Lucy & Dan) will (finally, after 3 postponements) be undertaking the biggest personal challenge of our lives thus far – trekking to Everest Base Camp (5,634m) and up Lobuche East (pictured) to 6,119m in the middle of the Himalayas, in the shadow of Mount Everest. As lovers of the mountains and the great outdoors this is a dream trip, but don’t let us fool you, this is a totally daunting task – it’ll be our first trip to Asia, our first trek of this distance and the most challenging (physically and mentally) 18 days we have both ever experienced.

We're taking this opportunity to raise money for the Young Oncology Unit at the Christie, a centre which helps many young adults and their families, and was a place Lucy's dear friend Josh was devoted to, where he faced some of his toughest challenges. So we will face our toughest challenge for him.

Why a target of £1,991? Both Lucy and Dan and Josh were born in 1991. Lucy and Josh grew up together, went to school together, sat beside each other in Nativity plays, learnt to play instruments together, celebrated New Year's Eves together and (much to their distaste at the time) enjoyed plenty of long walks with their families and friends together.

Keep up to speed with our training and progress on Twitter and Instagram @lucy_aspden – thank you for all your support.
